The beauty of Indianapolis over some much more expensive cities is you have a lot of flexibility in how lavish you want to live. If you want to live solo downtown in a decent apartment complex, rent plus parking can easily run you $1500. If you want this situation you should probably be making *at least* 60k which, after taxes is about $3600/month.
