The Round-Up Drive-In was opened on November 4, 1955 by local businessman, Malcolm White. Mr. White originally opened Scottsdale’s first movie theatre, the Tee-Bar-Tee Theatre in 1948, which became the Kiva Theatre in 1955. According to the Scottsdale Progress, the Round-Up had a 700-car capacity, which could be expanded to 1,000 if needed. It was a small, single-screen drive-in, with room for about 150 cars, and in recent years was one of only a handful of outdoor theaters still in business in Arizona.
