We just moved to NW Reno and looking forward to moving back to the bay once kids are school age. We’ve spent many winters and summers in Truckee and knew what to expect. If you keep your Bay Area job / salary and wait to have kids, you’ll have a fantastic time. We have two sets of friends living full time and love it.Avid snowboarder, moving to Bay area soon. Wonder what is most optimal car for snowy conditions around Lake Tahoe? Worst snowy condition: something that's happening right now, where lots of powder meets lots of people wanting to ride that. Obviously, AWD and good winter tires with chains in the trunk are necessary.
